Grade Star privacy policy

Grade Star does not collect any data about you. Physicsway never sees your courses, your scores, or anything else you type into the app.

There is no account to create, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no crash reporting.

What the app stores

Grade Star keeps what you enter so it can calculate your grades: course names and terms, grade categories and their weights, your scores and expected scores, grading scales, credit hours, and the app's settings. This is stored on your iPhone.

iCloud backup

If your iPhone is signed in to iCloud, Grade Star also saves your courses to your own private iCloud account, using Apple's iCloud service. This is what brings your grades back if you delete the app or move to a new iPhone.

That copy belongs to you. It sits in the private area of your iCloud account, protected by your Apple Account, and Physicsway has no way to read it. Apple handles it under Apple's privacy policy. It counts toward your iCloud storage, though Grade Star needs very little.

If your iPhone isn't signed in to iCloud, nothing is backed up and your grades stay on the iPhone only. Backing up to iCloud is the only time Grade Star uses the internet.

Deleting your data

Deleting a course in the app removes it from your iPhone and, when backup is on, from your iCloud account too. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the iPhone, but not the copy in iCloud, so your courses come back if you install Grade Star again.

To remove the iCloud copy as well, delete your courses in the app before deleting the app.

Children

Grade Star is made for high school and college students. Because it collects no personal information at all, it does not gather data from children or anyone else. The app contains no advertising and no in-app purchases.

Third parties

Grade Star contains no third-party software development kits, trackers, or advertising libraries. No data is shared with anyone, because none is collected.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date. Any future version of the app that collects data would say so plainly here before it shipped.
